Falmouth EDIC

The Falmouth Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC) is a nonprofit founded in 1981, working to ensure the economic health or our community. The EDIC funded the feasibility study and recognize the power of a fiber optic network in securing Falmouth’s economic future.

OpenCape

OpenCape is a nonprofit founded in 2006, that operates the existing fiber optic network on Cape Cod. OpenCape serves some of the municipal buildings, the schools, the libraries, and some businesses in Falmouth. Their existing network would serve as the back bone for Falmouth’s network and OpenCape is an excellent model to follow.

Community Networks

MuniNetworks.org provides resources for the movement to build broadband networks that are directly accountable to the communities they serve. We offer case studies, fact sheets, video and other resources to help leaders make informed decisions about community owned networks.
